My 7 year old loves snap circuits. We started with the 300. Then got the 300-500 upgrade. Now we have this one. He continues to love building circuits. He was excited about the CD that came with it and we got it to work pretty easily, but have done it only that once. He is content to use the manuals and build circuits. We've had a few pieces break on the original sets because it gets used so much. But Elanco will replace the occasional broken piece for free if you call. They have great customer service.

My 10 year old son loves all snap circuit kits. He has even used them for the science fair at school. He has enjoyed these toys for hours, and has been motivated to learn more about electronics.

I ordered this kit to upgrade my son's SC-100 kit based on Amazon's product description. The name of the item per Amazon is the "Elenco Snap Circuits SC-100 Upgrade Kit". Amazon's product features state: "UC-30 Converts your Snap Circuits SC-100 to the Snap Circuits SC-300". Sounds like what we need at that point. But it's not...This kit is actually the UC-80 upgrade kit. Amazon's description is incorrect. See below. The Manufacturer Product Description is also misleading. It says it converts the SC-750 to the SC-750 to create 450 new projects. Confused yet? Just wait. The product description below that says it converts the SC-500 to the SC-750 with 250 new experiments. This second description is correct for the UC-80 (the kit that has the computer interface and solar panel) per the Elenco website.It seems Amazon has mislabeled and incorrectly described this item. The outcome is that this kit does not allow you to do 250 or 450 more experiments if you are starting with the SC-100 kit. You first need to upgrade to the SC-500.
